Intersect Art and Design has announced Intersect Aspen, an online viewing room replacing Art Aspen for the 2020 edition due to COVID-19. Intersect Aspen will be live from July 22-26, 2020 at www.art-aspen.com.

Intersect Art and Design’s president Dirk von Gal explains, “The Intersect team has worked diligently to pivot to a virtual platform, which will provide a dynamic experience for dealers, collectors, and the general public, and will support galleries and artists. It’s a fresh start for the fair as we plan for future editions. Our hope is to foster social connectivity through art while maintaining physical distancing through this online fair.”

Becca Hoffman, Managing Director of Intersect Art and Design says, “Intersect Aspen aims to pave the way for connection to a broader and more diverse dynamic of national and international galleries along with a robust global collector base through an online experience that they can participate in safely from home. Intrinsically tied to the interconnectivity of our digital platform is the importance and focus on giving back to Aspen’s local and regional cultural institutions which will be done through a daily silent auction entitled One Thing.”

One Thing will provide exclusive content from Intersect Aspen exhibitors, focusing on a single artist or artwork each day from Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, July 26. Each day will have a specific focus: One Thing to celebrate, to be thankful for, to fight for, to love, and to look forward to. At the end of each day, a silent auction of featured artwork will raise money for local and regional beneficiaries.

Cultural partners of One Thing include The Art Base, Carbondale Arts, and Theatre Aspen, with others to be announced.

Additionally, critic and curator Paul Laster (Time Out New YorkGalerieArt & ObjectSculptureHarper’s Bazaar ArabiaCultured, and ArtAsiaPacific) will present Five Artists, Five Mediums, Five Days – A Curated Selection for One Thing, featuring drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and film/video, accompanied by a series of online talks.
